Men’s Track and Field Take First Place in Inaugural Flames Invitational

Men's Track and Field took first place in the inaugural Flames Invitational with a score of 156 points out of 33 teams that competed. 

Ralph Casper came in first in the shot put with a mark of 19.00 meters hitting an NCAA DII automatic qualifying mark. Nikolas Curtiss finished third with a throw of 18.20 meters that hit an NCAA DII Provisional mark and Benedict Draghi came in eighth with a throw of 17.01 meters hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark. 

Cameron Burrows led the Dragons in the high jump, winning the event with a jump of 2.15 meters and hitting an NCAA DII Automatic qualifying mark. Joseph Holida finished fifth with a jump of 1.90 meters, followed by Jacob Goudy with a leap of 1.85 meters in sixth. 

Eric Jackson placed second in the Discus with a mark of 50.14 meters hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark.

Lloyd McCurdy took first in the triple jump with a leap of 15.35 meters hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark and Dorian Holida placed seventh with a jump of 13.91 meters. 

Quincy Scott placed second in the long jump with a mark of 7.26 meters hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark. Dorian Holida finished eighth with a leap of 6.34 meters. 

Collin Jasin took first in the pole vault with a mark of 5.00 meters hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark. 

Errik Snell took fourth place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.36 hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark followed by Mason Plant in seventh with a time of 14.74 and Nathaneal Wilson with a time of 14.98. 

Drew Hickman placed third in the 400-meter race with a time of 49.03. 

The quartet of Dorian Hooker, Drew Hickman, Lennel Shelby III, and Michael McNeil came in second in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:19.64.

The quad of Elijah Gauldin, Quincy Scott, Errik Snell, and Jonte Baker placed first in the 4 x 100 relay with a time of 41.09. 

Lenell Shelby III finished third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 53.66 and Thomas Zor came in fourth with a time of 54.97. 

Garrett Wilson took first place in the Javelin throw with a throw of 58.67 meters and teammate Steele Butzin came in second with a throw of 56.19 meters. 

The Dragons fared well in the Hammer Throw with four in the top ten as Jacob McPherson took second with a throw of 53.35 meters, John Casper finished fifth with a throw of 52.38 meters, Christian Sturm came in sixth with a throw of 51.15 meters, and Matt Ryser came in tenth with a throw of 45.77 meters. 

Elijah Gauldin came in tenth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.83.
