Men’s Track and Field Lead after Day 1 of the Collegiate Challenge

The Tiffin University men's track and field squad are in first place with 63 points after day one of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.

The Dragons fared well in the hammer throw, taking seven of the top ten finishers as Christian Sturm took second with a throw of 51.89m. Matthew Ryser was in third with a throw of 50.68m, John Casper finished sixth with a throw of 48.84m, Vincent Volpe in seventh with a throw of 48.73m, Jacob McPherson in eighth with a mark of 48.41m, Benedict Draghi in ninth with a throw of 47.27m, and Jaret Tinkey rounded out the top ten with a throw of 43.93m. 

Steele Butzin took first place in the javelin with a throw of 58.94m, while Garrett Wilson finished in third with a throw of 57.49. 

Dorian Holida finished tenth in the long jump with a leap of 6.55m.

The quartet of Bishop, Hammond, Nguyen, and Drange placed third in the 4x800m with a time of 8:39.66. 

In the men's 4x200m Tiffin's B team of Zor, Roberts, Snell, and McNeil came in fourth with a time of 1:31.06. The A team of Johnson, Powell, Maximo, and Wilson came in fifth with a time of 1:32.71.
