Burrows, Croy Receive Top Regional Honors

USTFCCCA All-Region Release

NEW ORLEANS - The USTFCCCA announced the regional athletes and coaches of the year for the indoor season on Friday afternoon, and Tiffin's Cameron Burrows earned Midwest Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year honors while head coach Jeremy Croy picked up the Midwest Region Men's Coach of the Year award.

Burrows, a senior from Sandusky, Ohio, is ranked first nationally in the high jump at 2.19m (7-2¼) and seventh nationally in both the heptathlon at 5381 points and the long jump at 7.51m (24-7¾).

He scored 26 points at the GMAC Indoor Championships with victories in the high jump and long jump in addition to a third-place effort in the pole vault, earning GMAC Field Athlete of the Meet honors.

At this years' Indoor Championships on March 13 & 14, Burrows will be attempting to increase his career indoor All-American count to five and overall All-American total to eight or more. The seniors' highest finish came a year ago at Indoors in the high jump, placing third with a clearance of 2.15 meters.

From the USTFCCCA archives dating back to 2009, Burrows is the third member of Tiffin track & field to earn a regional athlete of the year honor, joining Lamar Hargrove (2x Track - 2015, 2016) and Coy Blair (Field - 2017).

Croy, in his 20th year at Tiffin, led the Dragon men to the top of the national rankings on numerous occasions this season. Tiffin won the GMAC title by 93 points over second-place Findlay, scoring 220 points and earning points in 16 of 17 events to claim the championship for the second-straight indoor season and third-straight GMAC title counting the 2019 outdoor season.

In the #EventSquad rankings, Croy has six events ranked in the top-10, including the No. 1 squads in the 60 and shot put. The Dragons are currently ranked No. 5 nationally on the men's side.

Croy has been the gold standard in the Midwest Region as of late, as the honor marks the fifth time in the last six years that he has been named the Midwest Region Men's Coach of the Year.
