Curtiss Receives GMAC Field Athlete of the Week Honor

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced the weekly award winners for indoor track & field on Monday, and Tiffin's Nikolas Curtiss took home the Field Athlete of the Week honor for Feb. 3-9.

Curtiss continues to headline all throwers in Division II in the shot put, coming through with another automatic qualifying distance for No. 2-ranked Tiffin at the Dragon Grand Prix.

Three of the top seven throwers from DII in the shot put are Dragons with Jabari Bennett and Eric Jackson also routinely stealing the show in the cages this season.

Curtiss had a career-best distance of 19.40m (63' 7.75") to win the event over his teammates, who along with Isaiah Allen hit provisional qualifying marks as well.

Curtiss is now ranked fourth, seventh, and 10th in the conference record books in the shot put while emerging as the favorite for the national title in the event.
