Page, Bennett Sweep GMAC Men's T&F Weekly Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - Tiffin freshman Joshua Page and sophomore Jabari Bennett have taken both of the GMAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors after their performances last weekend.

At the Saginaw Valley State-hosted "Jet's Pizza" Invitational, Page provisionally qualified for nationals in a pair of different events while contributing to a new conference record.

The freshman ran a 21.96 in the prelims of the 200-meter dash, officially cracking the top 10 list in conference history. He finished second in that event after clocking a flat 22-second final run.

Page then won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.45, adding his name to the list of provisional qualifiers.

Page then helped rewrite history in the 4x400 relay with teammates Lenell Shelby III, Micah Robins, and Brandon Lynn.

Together, they ran a 3:16.15 to break the previous record set by another Dragons' foursome at the Ohio State Tune-Up.

Bennett keeps upping the bar for himself and the rest of the country as he established a new PR with yet another automatic qualifying distance in the shot put.

Already leading NCAA Division II in the event, Bennett went over 19 meters (62' 5") for the winning distance at the Hillsdale Conference Crossover.

The Dragons occupied the top four placements in the shot put at the event after Nikolas Curtiss was runner-up, Eric Jackson third, and Isaiah Allen taking fourth.

This his Bennett's third conference career weekly honor and second of the current indoor season.
