Sixteen Men's Track & Field Members Earn All-Conference Recognition

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced the 2019 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference teams, and Tiffin men's track & field has 16 award recipients, including Jeremy Croy as Men's Coach of the Year.

With honors based off of each athlete's top-three finish at the G-MAC Indoor Championships, the Dragons had eight members named to the First Team, two to the Second Team, and five to the third team.

 

Jonte Baker received First Team recognition after finishing first in the 60m (6.77) and qualifying for Nationals, where he eventually won the National Championship. Cameron Burrows (high jump, 2.09m), Quincy Scott (long jump, 7.61m), and Errik Snell (60m Hurdles, 8.08) also each won conference titles in their events to earn First Team honors, all qualifying for Nationals as well with Burrows and Scott finishing as All-Americans.

The 4x400m Relay also earned a First Team accolade, as the team of Chance Abbitt, Drew Hickman, Brandon Lynn, and Isaiah Robinson crossed the line first with a time of 3:21.37.

Second-place finishes and Second Team honors went to Nikolas Curtiss in the shot put (18.93m) and Toryko Grace in the weight throw (20.38m) as both throwers reached Nationals and earned All-American status.

Jabari Bennett (shot put, 17.35m) and Davis Bowers (pole vault, 4.83m) finished third in their events for Third Team honors, and both reached Nationals and finished as All-Americans. Tristen Durr also finished third at G-MACs in the weight throw (19.78m) for Third Team honors and a Nationals qualification, while Elijah Gauldin (60m, 6.91) and Wavell Hinds (60m Hurdles, 8.15) rounded out the Third Team recognitions for the Dragons.
