Tiffin University's men's track team had a number of standout performances at the 2019 G-MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, hitting an automatic and seven provisional marks along the way.

 

The Dragons were in first place after the first day, totaling 64 points to Findlay's 35 and Cedarville's 31. The Dragons were especially strong in the field events.

 

Quincy Scott hit an NCAA Automatic mark, winning the long jump competition with a leap of 7.61 meters. 

 

Provisional marks were hit twice by Cameron Burrows, who placed 5th with a provisional mark of 4.83m in the pole vault while also placing 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 7.36m. 

 

Davis Bowers and Collin Jasin brought two more provisional marks for TU by finishing 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the pole vault. Both athletes cleared 4.83 meters. 

 

The Dragons produced four NCAA marks in the weight throw competition. Toryko Grace took runner up with a provisional throw of 20.38m in the weight, followed by Tristen Durr, who hit another provisional mark (19.78m). Nikolas Curtiss and Lovell Peterson also hit provisional marks in the weight throw, finishing in 6th place (18.08m) and 7th place (17.85m), respectively.

 

Also getting points for TU were Zachary Antonio (5th in Long jump), and Dorian Holida (6th in Long jump).

 

TU also finished 4th in the Distance Medley as the team of Stephen Korir, Markel Moore, Isaac Boateng, and Josh Jaster posted a time of 10:36.16.

 

In prelim action, Wavell Hinds won the 60 hurdles in 8.12 while Errik Snell took 2nd and Nathaneal Wilson was 8th. Drew Hickman took runner up in the 400 prelims, with Chance Abbitt taking 5th.

 

TU showed its dominance in the 60 dash, with Jonte Baker hitting a provisional mark in 6.79, while Tajarie Arthurton was second, Zion Cross third, and Elijah Gauldin fourth. LaVauntez Hall was 6th and Collin Blochlinger was 7th with three events remaining in the heptathlon. Three more Dragons made the cut in the 200 prelims, with Arthurton taking second, Baker 5th and Cross 6th. 

 

Tiffin will look to win the championship tomorrow as competition continues.
