To honor the National Runner-up finish by the Men's Indoor Track and Field team at the NCAA Division II National Indoor Championships held at Pittsburg State March 9-10, a Celebration Week will be held from March 12-16 to honor their top accomplishments.

The Dragons were runner-up to Pittsburg State by one point at the championships, continuing a run of excellence over the last three years that has included two NCAA Indoor National Championships and 39 All American Indoor citations over that period.

Today's honorees are Cameron Burrows and Vicent Vogel. Burrows finished 4th in the heptathlon while Vogel was 7th in the long jump.

Burrows had a record-breaking effort at Nationals, shattering the school record in the heptathlon with 5490 points. He led the heptathlon field in the high jump and long jump while taking second in the pole vault. Overall he appeared in two national categories, posting the 6th best mark in the high jump with 2.12 meters and 10th in the heptathlon with 5240 points heading into nationals. Regionally he placed 2nd in the high jump, 3rd in heptathlon, 4th in long jump, and 8th in pole vault. He is a two-time First Team All American.

Vogel, meanwhile, was 7th with a leap of 7.53 meters in his first appearance at nationals with the Dragons. He had the 5th best mark nationally heading into nationals, hitting an automatic qualifying mark of 7.62. He also had the top mark in the Midwest Region. His effort at nationals also garnered him a First Team All American honor.
