TU men hit 6 provisional marks at Dragon Open

Tiffin University's men's track and field team hit six provisional marks at the annual Tiffin Dragon Open.

Leading the way was Cameron Burrows, who posted the third best leap in the country in the high jump and hitting an NCAA mark with a 2.12 meter mark. 

Errik Snell also hit a NCAA provisional mark with a 8.16 time in the 60 hurdles, while Reginald Thomas also blasted across the line in 6.76 in the 60 meters for another provisional mark.

TU had the usual one-two punch in the pole vault, as Dylan Cornwell and Davis Bowers excelled and both hit provisional marks. Cornwell took first with a 5.10 mark (16-8.75) while Bowers was right behind with 5.00 (16-4.75).

TU got other first place finishes from Chance Abbitt, who won the 300 meters in 36.71, while Burrows won his second event of the day in the long jump with a leap of 7.01 meters (23-00). TU assistant coach Coy Blair also won the shot put as an unattached athlete with a throw of 19.64.

The 4000 DMR team of Stephen Korir, Isaac Boateng, Nicholas Runco, and Trenton Yoder also crossed the line in first with a time of 10:52.77.

Yoder also got a runner-up finish in the mile in 4:32.99, while Korir was second in the 800 in 2:03.46. Jalon Monigan took second in the triple jump with another provisional mark of 14.74 (48-4.5), Snell was second in the 300, and Shaquille Hildreth was second in the 200 in 22.52.

The 4x400 relay team of Abbitt, Monigan, Lynn, and Lavendar took second in 3:24.56, while TU's other 4x400 team of Hildreth, T.J. Coates, Drew Hickman, and Michael King was third.

Other third place finishes were by Mackenzi Rickman (60 hurdles), Wan'ya Williams (60), and Eric Jackson (shot put).
