Cutting Earns Conference Player of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - Tiffin men's tennis senior Toby Cutting has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after his 5-1 performance across three matches last week.

Cutting was unbeaten in singles at 3-0 and nearly pulled off the same mark in doubles, going 2-1 with the loss as close as it gets by a 7-6 score.

Cutting won in straight sets as Tiffin downed LSSU 6-1 last Monday, defeating Diego Penz in the No. 5 singles contest 6-4, 6-4. In the win against Warner, he moved up to No. 4 in the singles rotation to beat Filipe Gil 7-6, 6-3.

Cutting then accounted for the lone team point scored against Lenoir-Rhyne with a three-set victory over Shane O'Dea, 5-7, 7-5, 11-9.

Cutting played all three doubles contests at the No. 1 position with Nikita Parfenov. Together, they beat their opponents from LSSU and Warner.

The Dragons will play two more matches in South Carolina during Spring Break, facing Palm Beach Atlantic on Thursday and Barton on Friday.
