Men's Tennis Selected Third in Conference Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS - Tiffin University men's tennis has been picked third in the 2019 G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour.

Prior to their inaugural venture into the G-MAC, the Dragons totaled 27 points and one first-place vote, only two points behind second-place Findlay who also received one first-place nod. Hillsdale, the defending G-MAC Tournament Champions, sit atop the poll with 35 points and five first-place votes.

Seven G-MAC schools sponsor men's tennis, and each team will play the other six squads one time during the regular season. Tiffin's matchups against the two teams slotted ahead of them in the poll are both at home and come on April 7 (Findlay) and April 13 (Hillsdale).

Last season, the Chargers ran the table in regular season conference action with a perfect 8-0 record to earn the top spot in the G-MAC postseason before, as mentioned, winning the tournament title with an easy 5-1 win over 3-seed Walsh. Findlay finished as the 2-seed in 2018, while Cedarville (4) and Davis & Elkins (5) rounded out the standings.

Tiffin will not be the only newcomer to the conference men's tennis action, as the 2018-19 year is Kentucky Wesleyan's first campaign as an intercollegiate men's tennis program.

The Dragons, who bring back a pair of All-GLIAC performers in Santiago de la Rosa Mora and Sorin Navrotchi, open their spring season on Friday, Feb. 1 with a match at Lewis University. For their complete schedule, click HERE.
