TU upsets 11th-ranked Aquinas

Tiffin University (3-1) made a strong statement early in the start of their spring season, upsetting 11th-ranked Aquinas College (NAIA) 5-4 on the road.

The Dragons used strong depth at singles to mount their comeback, as they trailed 2-1 after doubles play. The team of Elio Lezama Perez/Agustin Mangone posted the lone win in doubles play 8-6, while Luis Ludena/Toby Cutting fell 9-7 and Andrew Isaac/Sorin Navrotchi also lost a nailbiter 8-6.

TU bounced back strongly in singles play, winning four matches in straight sets. Ludena posted a 6-3, 6-1 win, while Mangone won 7-5, 6-3, Cutting won 6-4, 7-6, and Justin Kopronica won 6-3, 6-2. 

TU's lone losses were from Lezama 6-3, 6-2, and by Isaac in a tough three set match 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.
