Dragons finish day one of GLIAC Championships

Tiffin University finished day one of the GLIAC Championships being hosted by Northern Michigan and Jenison High School in Jenison, Michigan, with the men and women sitting in sixth place.

Tiffin's Jonah Sumfleth hit a NCAA B provisional mark in the 200 IM to highlight the day. He posted a time of 1:51.09, good for fourth place.

Matthew Laporte placed 15th in the 1000 free style, while the 200 medley relay team of Jan Suchan, Nathan Marr, Laporte, and Ryan Gerold finished sixth.

For the women, the 200 medley relay team of Anastasiia Kvitchenko, Wixie Lehman, Catie Gorton, and Izzy Tarchione also came in sixth.

Wayne State led the women's side with 220 points, followed by Grand Valley State with 185. Tiffin has 26 points. On the men's side, Grand Valley State narrowly leads Northern Michigan 165.5 to 165, while the Dragons have 43 points.
