Swim team takes on EMU, Wayne State

Tiffin University's swim and dive team traveled to Ypsilanti, Michigan to take on Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University in a tough tri-meet. 

Eastern Michigan's men beat Tiffin 169-84 while also beating the women 179-60, while the Warriors' men beat TU 185-90 and the Lady Dragons also fell 189-69.

TU had a couple first place finishes from each team. The 200 free relay team of Anastasiia Kvitchenko, Brenda Oporto, Mari Johnson, and Olivia Salome won in a time of 1:44.98. For the men, the 200 free relay team of Ygor Zanardo Bortolato, Jonah Sumfleth, James Keen, and Lucas Merigue Barnardo posted a winning time of 1:28.66, while the B team of Matthew Laporte, Logan Brutcher, Seth Tessmer, and Matt Campbell took second.

Salome took 2nd in the 50 free with 24.46, while Kvitchenko took 2nd in the 200 butterfly with 2:11.17. Salome was also 3rd in the 200 free while Johnson was 3rd in the 200 butterfly.

For the men, Barnardo took 2nd in the 100 free in 47.36, while Tessmer was 2nd in the 400 IM in 4:47.53. Also posting 3rd place finishes were Sumfleth (100 backstroke), Petko Toromanov (100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke), and Campbell (400 IM).
