Dragons hit 3 B marks on Day One of GLIAC Championships

Tiffin University's swimming and diving team opened the first of four days of competition at the GLIAC Championships held at Saginaw Valley State University, hitting three provisional B cuts during competition. Overall the Dragons hit season-best times in every race in the session, appeared in 7 GLIAC final races, and set two new team records.

Two of those B cuts were made by TU's men's 50 meter swimmers, as Jonah Sumfleth finished 12th overall but swam a 20.67 time, while Lucas Merigue Bernardo was 14th also hit the B mark with a 20.72 prelim time.

Olivia Salome also hit the B standard in the 50 meters, posting a time of 23.76 while taking 7th overall.

Other top finishers for TU included Anastasiia Kvitchenko (7th in the 200 IM) and the 200 medley relay team of James Keen, Petko Toromanov, Seth Tessmer, and Ygor Zanardo Bortolato (6th place).

Day two will see competition in the 200 free relay, the 400 IM, the 100 fly, the 200 free, the one meter dive, and the 400 medley relay.
