Dragons claim G-MAC Tournament Championship

It was a good day to be a Dragon.

Tiffin University claimed two G-MAC titles on the same day, with the men's soccer team handling Lake Erie 3-0 at Paradiso Fields. The football team also claimed the outright G-MAC title with a win at Findlay.

The win marks the second G-MAC Tournament title in the last four years, while the team has also won back-to-back regular season titles as well.

The win follows Tiffin's regular season crown and was an emphatic statement on their conference season. They hold a 14-2-3 record with rock-solid defense being the team's signature strength, and that defense was on display against the Storm as they surrendered no shots on goal over 90 minutes.

The first half was close as both teams had 3 shots each. Tiffin cracked the scoreboard first in the 27th minute when Luke Alexander-Frost scored an unassisted goal to give the Dragons a 1-0 halftime lead.

Tiffin tightened the defense even more in the second half, as it jumped ahead 9-3 in total shots. Six of Tiffin's 9 shots were on target, as Storm goalkeeper Cooper Cook made 4 saves but also allowed two goals.

Alexander-Frost got another goal in the 62nd minute off a pass from Chewe Mukuka, while Mukuka put the nail in the coffin in the 74th minute off a pass from Malvin Gblah.

Felix Graf got the win in goal for Tiffin, making no saves over 90 minutes.

Caleb Gibbons was named G-MAC Tournament MVP while Alexander-Frost, Mukuka, and Jahzihno O'Garro were also named to the All-Tournament team.

The team will now prepare for NCAA regional play with seedings and pairings to be announced on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 pm.
