Penalty kick forces Dragons to settle for 1-1 tie at Northwood

Tiffin University (5-1-1, 4-0-1 G-MAC) had a second-half lead and held Northwood to just one shot on goal but settled for a 1-1 tie at Northwood.

The Dragons dictated the tempo throughout the game, holding a 10-4 first-half shot edge. Caleb Gibbons gave the Dragons the lead in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal leading to a 1-0 halftime lead.

TU continued to pepper the Timberwolves with shots in the second half, amassing a 10-3 shot lead. Northwood, however, found itself with a penalty kick chance in the 76th minute, with Amedeo Crovasce equalizing the score with just under 14:00 minutes to play.

The Dragons tried to regain the lead, with Chewe Mukuka and Luke Alexander-Frost sending shots on goal, but NU goalkeeper Robert Gjelaj made both saves.

TU, which overall held a 20-7 shot advantage, could not manage another shot over the final 8:00 of the game.

Tiffin allowed just one shot on goal to Northwood, with Declan Lehman getting credit for the tie over 90 minutes with no saves.

Tiffin also allowed just one corner kick in the game, holding a 5-1 edge.
