Strong Second Half Leads to 2-2 Tie Versus Ashland

The Tiffin University men's soccer team tied conference opponent Ashland 2-2 after double overtime. 

The Dragons improve to 5-7-4 overall and 4-5-4 in the GMAC, while the Eagles improve to 5-7-4 overall and 5-5-3 in the GMAC. 

The first half was one to forget for the Dragons as they let in two goals in the 25th and 37th minutes to go down 2-0 at the half. Despite outshooting Ashland 18-8, the Eagles had more shots on target with seven compared to the Dragons' three, and the teams were tied 3-3 in corner kicks. 

Second-half adjustments worked wonders for the Dragons as they were able to score in the 68th minute of play as Michael Owusu passed the ball across the net to Pero Mikulic to cut the Eagles' lead in half. Then, three minutes later in the 71st minute, Ignacio Mazarro scored off a bad clearance from Ashland to tie the game at 2-2.

The Dragons did better in that half, outshooting the Eagles 7-6 with three shots on targets for both teams, and two corner kicks apiece. 

The Dragons kept their momentum in overtime as they had several scoring opportunities but the Eagles goalkeeper made some great saves to keep the game tied. Neither team was able to break the deadlock in overtime and the game ended with a 2-2 tie.

Tiffin outshot Ashland 31-21, had eight shots on target compared to the Eagles' 11, and each team tallied seven corners each.

Declan Lehman got a tie in net to improve to a 5-7-4 record, recording six saves and allowing two goals through 110 minutes of play.
