Oilers slip by dragons

The Tiffin University men's soccer team endured tough playing conditions, as a substantial amount of rain made footing tough for both sides. The Dragons, sitting 14th in the nation, dropped a 1-0 decision on Sunday afternoon to the University of Findlay.

Findlay dented the Tiffin defense in the 15th minute, catching a pass in the center of the box and hammering home the lone goal of the game. Tiffin surrendered only three shots in the half, but Findlay made due with the goal in the 15th minute. The Dragons' offense stayed aggressive, firing nine 1st half shots, but only one came on goal.

In the 2nd half, the Dragon offense continued to fire upon the Oilers' keeper, but were unable to break through. The Dragons took 11 shots in the 2nd half, compared to Findlay's four. The Oilers were able to play keep away from Tiffin late in the 2nd half, with the Dragons falling 1-0 to the Oilers.

Cary Wilson took the loss in goal, falling to 10-3-1 this season. As a team, Tiffin falls to 10-3-1 overall and 8-3-1 in GLIAC play. The Dragons will be back in action on October 21, making the long trek to the Upper Peninsula to tangle with the Northern Michigan Wildcats.
