Dragons selected for NCAA Regional

Tiffin University (14-4-2) will be the 2nd seed and take on the winner of #3 Saginaw Valley State (15-4-1) and #6 Drury (11-4-3) at 1 pm Nov. 13 at Saginaw Valley. The qualifying teams for the NCAA Regionals were released by the NCAA. This is the third time in the last four seasons the Dragons made the cut to the NCAA postseason. The Dragons qualified for NCAA postseason play in both 2013 and 2014.

Rockhurst (16-2-2) is the top seed and will play the winner of #4 Southern Indiana (13-3-3) and #5 Quincy(12-5-2) at 2 pm Nov. 13 in the other Midwest Region bracket. The winner of each bracket will face off in third round action to be concluded by Nov. 20. The semifinals and finals will be held on Dec. 1 and 3 at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri, hosted by Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Kansas City Sports Commission. A total of 38 teams were selected to the NCAA postseason. 

Tiffin won the GLIAC Tournament Championship with wins over Northwood 3-2 in double overtime and Saginaw Valley State 2-1 in double overtime. The win against the Cardinals came in the third matchup between the two teams, as TU lost 2-1 at Saginaw Valley during their first game and tied 4-4 in two overtimes in their second meeting. They are led by two-time GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year Andre Landell. Landell led the GLIAC in goals with 16 and points with 39 while finishing second in assists with 7. He also was the top scorer on the GLIAC's top offensive team, as the Dragons tied with Saginaw scoring 47 goals. They were fourth overall in GAA with 1.24.

Midfielder Scott Byrom was also a First Team selection, while defender Kangni Gabianou was another First Team pick. Michael Bottomley earned Second Team selection at forward, along with midfielder Spencer Wood. Michael McPeek was a Honorable Mention pick at forward.
