Men's Soccer records memorable season

Men's Soccer records memorable season

On behalf of the men's soccer program, we'd like to thank all of those family members, friends, fellow students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administrators that helped in the success of the team's accolades this season.  The team is once again the GLIAC Tournament Champions and received an automatic bid into the NCAA 2nd Round National Championship Tournament.  Notable players receiving postseason honors are Charles Rolls, Limamu Mohammed, Kangni Gabianou, Andre Carvalho-Landell, Scott Byrom, and Michael McPeek.

At left back, Rolls commanded a touch cross game, earning him GLIAC Player of the Week.  Limamu Mohammed's speed, hard work and positive mindset helped him earn Player of the Week.

Another player who was the rock in the defensive line holding the team together in the toughest of times is Kangni Gabianou.  Gabianou, for his consistently standout efforts in the defensive line, boasted Player of the Week, ALL-GLIAC Tournament Team, and All-GLIAC 1st team.
Spencer Wood, as a feisty but effective leader in the defensive part of the pitch, earned himself ALL-GLIAC 2nd Team.  Cary Wilson, in his freshman debut, also earned a spot on the ALL-GLIAC Tournament Team.

Tiffin runs on two midfield engines imported from England, Michael Bottomley and Scott Byrom.  In his senior year Michael more than earned his place as a member of the ALL-GLIAC 2nd Team, ALL-GLIAC Tournament Team, and topping it all off with the NCAA DII CCA Midwest Region 2nd Team.  Scott Byrom's talents have won him a place on the ALL-GLIAC 1st Team and the NCAA DII CCA Midwest Region 2nd Team.

Last but not least, our scoring force, comprised of Andre Carvalho-Landell and Michael McPeek, have earned their place in GLIAC and Tiffin University history.  Michael McPeek, in his senior year, has become one of our most successful scoring forwards with 13 goals.  His efforts over the past four years have been transformational and this year have earned him ALL-GLIAC Honorable Mention Selection, ALL-GLIAC Tournament Team, and the NCAA DII CCA Midwest Region 2nd Team.

Andre Carvalho-Landell, Tiffin University's most decorated player, has earned numerous accolades in his senior season.  Andre  has earned GLIAC Player of the Week, ALL-GLIAC 1st Team, the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year, ALL-GLIAC Tournament Team, the NCAA DII CCA Midwest Region 1st Team, and the NCAA DII CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year.  Dre boasted 16 goals and 8 assists which places him at the top of the GLIAC and Tiffin Men's Soccer team's scoring records for the year.

Tiffin University Men's Soccer finished their season 14-5-2 and took home the GLIAC Tournament Championship Trophy for the 4th time in the 8 years Tiffin has been in the GLIAC.  Coach Brownell would once again like to thank all of those family members, friends, alumni, fellow students, faculty, staff, and administrators for their support in such a wonderful 2016 season.
