Dragons maintain lead after 3 rounds, head to match play

Tiffin University finished the third round of the G-MAC Men's Golf Championship with a 6-stroke lead over Ashland as the tourney now heads to match play.

The Dragons continued the same consistency they showed in the first two rounds, as they were just two strokes off their round two score of 294 with a third-round 296. They opened the first round with 290 to total 880 for the three rounds. Ashland made a strong run in the third round to finish second with 886. Malone was third with 890 while Findlay fell off to 4th place with 895.

Johan Widal led the Dragons in round three, shooting 70 and cutting 6 strokes off his round two score. He placed eighth overall with 221.

Mitchell Brassard tied for second overall, matching his second-round 72 and totaling 218. Both Brassard and Widal earned All-Conference honors by finishing in the Top 8.

Justing Hand finished 13th, shooting 77 on day two for 223, while Matt Flynn finished with 226 and David Siegel had 229.

A final head-to-head medal match play will be played April 26 between Tiffin and Ashland to determine a team champion.
