TU finishes 4th at Kyle Ryman Memorial

Tiffin University fell off from their pace in rounds 1 and 2, shooting a 296 in round 3 to finish 4th of 14 teams at the TU Kyle Ryman Memorial Invitational held at Mohawk Golf and Country Club.

Ferris State won the event with a score of 865, while Saginaw Valley State was second with 871, followed by Wayne State with 875 and Tiffin with 879. The Dragons opened with a 290 in round one but fell off to 293 in round two before finishing with 296 in the final round.

Jay Green was the top TU golfer, finishing 4th with a 215 (68-72-75), while Brett Green shot a red hot 69 in the third round to finish in 8th place with 217 (73-75-69).

Other scores for Tiffin's A team were Logan Price with 224, Jordan Bollenbacher with 226, and Tyler Schepens with 231.

Kaleb Smith finished tied for 8th place with 217 amongst Tiffin's individual golfers, while Cameron McCloskey also cracked the top 20 with a score of 221.

"I am proud of how the program honored Kyle's Memory this weekend," said Head Coach Darby Roggow. "So many great young men from across the region played inspiring golf and to me that is what this event is all about.  It is tough when the trophy goes home with another team, but it makes the hurt worth it when I think that Kyle's name will be displayed at Ferris State in their trophy case.  The Bulldogs played some great golf. Saginaw Valley State and Wayne State also played so solid.  Our conference and region proved again that every weekend is going to be a battle.  It is going to be a fun year competing against so many great teams and even better collections of people."

"I can not thank Mohawk Golf and Country Club, its members and our alumni enough for all of their support.  They have made my job of running a first class event easy. The support we receive from our golf community make honoring Kyle's memory beyond special."
