Four Dragons Hit Double-Digits in Key Win Over Lake Erie

The Tiffin University men's basketball team (13-13, 10-8 G-MAC) defeated Lake Erie 82-74 in a key conference matchup, with the help of four Dragons hitting double-digit points.

A close start to the game as the Dragons held an 11-8 lead at the 16:18 mark, but the Storm countered with an 11-5 run to tie the game at 19-19. TU rallied, going on a 6-0 run to lead 25-19 with 8:03 left in the first half. Lake Erie's tough defense allowed them to go on a late surge to cut the Dragons' lead down to 33-32 at the end of the first half.

Coming out of the break, neither team gained an advantage as the teams tied seven times before the Dragons went on a 9-0 run to lead 56-47 at the 7:51 mark. Tiffin's offense caught fire as it extended its lead to 70-57 with just under four minutes left in the game. The Storm didn't give up and went on a 5-0 run to cut the lead to single digits. However, clutch free throws from the Dragons sealed the 82-74 win.

With the win, the Dragons set the record for the most conference wins in a season since joining Division II in 2008.

Wesley Jordan led all scorers with 23 points shooting 7-for-13 from the field, grabbing four rebounds, two assists, and one block, while Morgan Taylor registered 15 points shooting 5-for-7 from the field, had seven rebounds, and seven assists.

Joshua Rivers tallied 11 points shooting 5-for-10 from the field and recorded a team-high nine rebounds, and Ian Lopez scored 10 points shooting 2-for-6 from beyond the arc, had five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
