Tiffin University (2-5, 0-1 G-MAC) traded the lead back and forth with Lake Erie but fell short in the closing seconds 68-64 in their conference opener.

The Dragons battled throughout the first half and pulled ahead 29-21 with 4:12 left in the half. The Storm, though, bounced back as the half ended on an 11-3 run to tie the score 32-32 at halftime.

The game remained a two-point contest throughout the second half, with the lead swinging back and forth between both teams. TU pulled ahead 61-58 with 2:26 left but the Storm controlled the closing 2:00, outscoring TU 10-3 over that stretch to put the game away.

TU outshot Lake Erie 47 percent to 45 percent for the game but were outshot in the second half 48 percent to 42 percent.

The Storm also outrebounded TU 37-31 while also forcing 16 TU turnovers.

Trent Williams and Carius Key tied for the team lead with 15 points, with Key also getting 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Wesley Jordan also had 10 points, while Micale Harris had 6 points and 6 rebounds.
