In a game filled with huge streaks by both teams, Tiffin University (10-15, 5-12 GMAC) came up just short, falling to Malone 90-86.

The loss came despite a brilliant 40-point effort by Tylin Lockett-Fuller, who became just the second TU player in the NCAA Division II era to hit 40 points in a game. Joe Graessle did it three times during his career from 2010-13, including a high of 47 points in 2013 vs. Malone.

Malone opened with a 21-12 run in the first half, but TU answered with their own 21-12 run to tie it 33-33 with 2:23 left in the half. A brief 6-0 run by the Pioneers gave them a 39-33 halftime margin.

The Dragons came out on fire in the second half, posting a 25-9 burst that vaulted them ahead of Malone 58-48 with 11:45 to play.

Malone quickly reversed the trend, rallying for a 31-7 explosion that put them up 79-65 and seemingly in control with just 2:32 to play.

The Dragons refused to quit, though, closing the game on a 21-11 run that got them to within a point of Malone with 4 seconds left. The Pioneers held their composure during the run, however, converting 9 of their 10 free throws over the game's final 32 seconds to secure the win.

The two teams were nearly even in every offensive category. Malone shot 56 percent from the field while the Dragons hit at a 50 percent clip. TU edged Malone 10-8 in three pointers, while Malone held a 14-12 edge at the free throw line. Malone also outrebounded TU 38-32, while the Dragons forced 14 Malone turnovers.

Lockett-Fuller had a superb game, hitting 12 of 17 shots including 7 for 10 from three point land, and 9 of 13 from the line. He also had 5 rebounds.

Morgan Taylor had 18 points with 5 steals, and Trent Williams totaled 10 points with 6 assists. Wesley Jordan finished with 9 points and 12 rebounds, while Dalaino Walker also had 9 points with 5 rebounds.
