TIFFIN, Ohio - Jairus Stevens has announced his intention to continue his academic and athletic career with Tiffin men's basketball.
Stevens, a 6-5, 210 pound wing, played for Kilgore College last season, starting 17 games. He averaged 7.4 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field. In 2017-18 he played for IPFW, appearing in 13 games.
During 2016-17 he attended Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Connecticut and led the team in scoring with 19.8 points per game. He averaged 6.3 rebounds per game and shot 55.0 percent from the field and 35.0 percent from three. He attended Merrillville High School and helped the team to a 22-1 record under head coach T.J. Lux. He earned 1st Team All DAC and 1st Team All-Area NWI Times. His mother is Sarita Stevens and his father Barry Stevens ranked as Iowa State's second leading scorer in program history when he finished his collegiate career. He later was drafted by the Denver Nuggets and reached the NBA as a member of the Golden State Warriors in 1993.
