Jerry Buccilla has resigned as Head Men's Basketball Coach at Tiffin University, leaving to pursue other career opportunities.

According to Tiffin University Athletic Director Lonny Allen, "I have enjoyed knowing Jerry both as a coach and as a person. Jerry made contributions with the men's basketball program and the athletic department not only on the court but in the community. I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."

According to Coach Buccilla, "It has been a very rewarding nine years at Tiffin University.  I've been able to be part of and help contribute to a University that has enjoyed significant growth in enrollment, facilities and academic offerings over this time while helping transition the men's basketball program from an NAIA program to a very competitive NCAA Division 2 program and a program that has done exceptionally well in the classroom.  I thank all players and staff, both current and past, for their commitment to our program.  It has been a pleasure to serve as your Head Coach.  I thank Athletic Director Allen, President Schumacher, former President Marion and my former collegiate coach and mentor John Hill for giving me the opportunity at Tiffin."

Buccilla debuted in 2013-14 after serving four years as assistant coach for John Hill, and totaled 48 wins over his five seasons competing in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He posted 11 wins in the 2013-14 season, as well as the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. Most recently the Dragons finished with a 7-21 mark. He also coached a number of TU basketball players that went on to professional careers, including Karl Finley, Joe Graessle, Ashton Khan, and Andy Bachman.
