The Tiffin University men's basketball team hit the books this past fall, and produced their highest fall semester grade point average in the last nine years with nine student-athletes posting a 3.00 GPA. Tiffin has seen a steady rise in fall semester grade point averages under head coach Jerry Buccilla. Prior to Buccilla's tenure, the Dragons produced a 2.46 GPA in the fall of 2012. Last year the men's varsity basketball team posted a 3.07 fall GPA, and this year they continued their upward trend with a 3.09 GPA. Combining all 33 student-athletes that compete on the varsity and extended varsity programs, the men's basketball team produced a 2.98 program GPA.

Coach Buccilla had this to say about his team's continued success in the classroom - "I continue to be pleased with our upward trend. The main reason these young men are here at Tiffin University is to get a degree, and our focus as coaches is to make sure we support them both on the court and in the classroom."
