Dragons look to continue streak this week

Tiffin University's men's basketball program (8-7, 4-4 GLIAC) will host Lake Erie (2-14, 1-7 GLIAC) Thursday night before hitting the road to Ohio Dominican (9-5, 4-4 GLIAC) Saturday.

TU has been red hot of late, posting wins in five of their last six games including 3 in a row. They have victories over Carlow 111-83 and most recently swept the Michigan visits of Northern Michigan 81-68 and Michigan Tech 71-64.

TU has been led offensively by Juwan Johnson with 13.3 points and 5.1 rebounds, while Austin Adams has also been turning it on lately, posting 12.5 points and 7.1 rebound averages. Khaleal McCormick also has 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds on the ledger. Tony Kynard is also in double figures with 12 ppg, Alex Brown is averaging 9.3 points and Brandon Wilkins is at 7.9 points.

Lake Erie, meanwhile, has struggled, posting just 2 wins this season. Their only wins came against Michigan Tech 77-73 and Cedarville 88-86. They enter this week's games having dropped 6 of 7 contests.

Sean Howard leads the way with 14.8 ppg, followed by Gabe Kynard at 10.9 ppg and Nick Wells at 9.2 ppg.

The Dragons hold key statistical edges over the Storm, outscoring them 78.1 to 69.8 while also outrebounding them 40.4 to 31.3. While Lake Erie is hitting at a 44 percent clip from the field, they are only hitting 66 percent of their foul shots.

For the Panthers, they have won three in a row after losing three straight. They are 5-4 in their last 9 games after opening the season 4-1. They recently posted wins over Shawnee State 62-61, Lake Superior State 78-77, and Northwood 101-67.

Ronnie Williams leads the Panthers with 12.7 ppg, followed by Hasan Varence with 12.5 ppg and 7.7 rpg. Sam Hickey is right behind at 11.4 ppg and Shemar Waugh also scores at a 8.1 ppg clip.

The Panthers have shot well this year, hitting 47 percent of their shots and averaging 74.8 ppg, but only hit 69 percent of their foul shots. They also average 34.9 rpg.
