Tiffin University is ranked 22nd in the annual D2Football.com Preseason poll.

The Dragons were the lone GMAC school in the poll, which was topped by West Florida. Minnesota State was ranked second while Ferris State was tabbed third. Indianapolis, which the Dragons tangle with in week 3, were ranked 15th.

Tiffin officially claimed the GMAC championship title in 2020 under Great Midwest Coach of the Year Cris Reisert with an undefeated run through the league standings this spring to officially make it back-to-back trophies. The Dragons had also won the conference trophy in 2019 while qualifying for the NCAA Championship Super Region 1 bracket. They have amassed a 15-2 mark over the last two seasons.
