The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2019 Academic All-District Football Teams on Thursday, and Tiffin's Gavin Woods has earned honors on the NCAA Division II Super Region 1 First Team.

Super Region 1 includes all football student-athletes from the GMAC, PSAC, NE-10, and MEC conferences, with Woods being one of just three honorees selected from the GMAC. A junior with a 3.75 GPA in Finance, Woods is one of the primary receivers on the team. He is third in receiving yards with 339 and is the top punt returner, sporting a 9.4 yards per return average (tops in the GMAC).

The 2019 Academic All-District Football Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced December 9-12.
