Equestrian competes at Western Regionals

The Tiffin University Equestrian Team traveled to OSU this weekend to compete in western regionals.

The regional competition is reserved for riders who have qualified in their respective divisions. The team took four riders - freshman Caroline Frieders, sophomores Arissa Hendershot and Jacob Strandberg, and junior Katie Vogel. These Dragons competed against regional qualifiers from Ohio State, Ohio University, Hocking College, Ohio Wesleyan and Wilmington College. The western team finished in third place overall in the region. 

The day started off with Katie Vogel placing second in her class out of three and will be moving onto semifinals. Katie also ended the year in fifth for AQHA rider out of all the open riders. Arissa Hendershot and Jacob Strandberg competed together, placing fifth and second, respectively, out of seven riders. Jacob will be moving onto semifinals as well. Caroline Frieders received a callback in her class and earned third place out of ten riders. 

Western semifinals will take place on March 21st at Blackhawk College in Illinois. The team will be traveling with two riders, Katie Vogel and Jacob Strandberg.
