Western team finishes 3rd in Region, Koszalka moves on

The Tiffin University Western Equestrian Team rode at Findlay for the last shows of the regular season.
 
The Dragons were fourth out of eleven teams in the AM competition and 3rd out of 11 teams in the PM competition. The points collected today finish Tiffin's team season with a 3rd place overall in the region for the year behind the University of Findlay and Youngstown State, and ahead of Lake Erie College, The University of Akron, BGSU, Oberlin, Walsh, Kent, University of Toledo, Theil, and Franciscan respectively.
Highlights from the AM show include Jordan Sauer with a 2nd place finish in Intermediate I, Destiny Maruna with a 3rd in Beginner Horsemanship, Morgan Hixenbaugh with a 3rd on a tough draw in Intermediate II, and Katie Vogel with a 3rd place in her debut in the Advanced Horsemanship. Lindsay Weiser, Emily Boersen, Calysta Herniter, Rachael Dowczek, and McKenzie Sargent all scored 4th places in their respective divisions. Alexis Reisner and Ashley Koszalka both brought home 5th place finishes. 
The PM show had wins for both Calysta Herniter and Kaitlyn Borer. Ashley Koszalka brought home a 3rd in reining and 4th in open horsemanship to secure her spot next week in the individual regional finals. Mikayla Reincke was second in Intermediate II. Madeline Powers brought in a 4th in Intermediate II. Rachael Dowczek, Katie Vogel, Morgan Hixenbaugh, Emily Boersen,and Destiny Maruna all finished 5th in their respective divisions and 6th place awards went to Madyson Palmer and Alexis Williams.
Individual Regional Qualifiers from both the Western and Hunt teams will travel to regionals next weekend. Western will compete Saturday morning at the University of Findlay, and Hunt will travel to OSU to compete on Sunday.
