This weekend the past will join the present, as the Tiffin University baseball program will celebrate its 50th season by welcoming back alumni and their families. The program has seen 10 former players earn induction to the Tiffin University Athletic Department Hall of Fame, and seven stroll the grounds of a professional field. The most recent of which, Logan Sendelbach, is currently with the Pittsburgh Pirates Double A affiliate, the Altoona Curve.

Since the opening season of intercollegiate baseball in 1968, there have been roughly 513 players don the green and gold of Tiffin University. Of those 513 players, 13 have been All-Americans, 29 have been All-Region, and 131 have earned All-Conference laurels. Throughout the programs history there have been many changes along the way, from logos to uniforms to facilities. Tiffin now calls Heminger Field home. The green and gold have been led by 11 different head coaches, with current Director of Athletics Lonny Allen compiling 21 years of service and 444 career victories.

The celebration will begin Friday, with the Dragons hosting GLIAC foe Davenport at 3:30 pm in a single 9-inning game. Saturday the Dragons doubleheader will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will include an alumni family cookout, alumni recognition between games, kids inflatables, and alumni's kids are invited to run the bases after game 2. On Sunday, coffee and donuts will be served around 10:00 a.m. prior to the Dragons final game with Davenport at 12:00 p.m.

The Dragons currently sit 11-19 overall and 5-10 in the GLIAC. Tiffin is battling for a spot in the conference tournament, sitting a game out of the final spot. The Dragons are coming off a record setting 2017, posting program highs in wins (32), winning percentage (.656), and postseason victories (3).
