Tiffin University's, Kevin Borst became the first Tiffin University baseball player to be selected as a GLIAC Commissioner's Award recipient. Borst showcased a live arm on the field, and a sharp mind in the classroom.
Borst finished the 2017 baseball season leading the GLIAC with 13 saves, helping Tiffin University post a program record 32 wins. Borst finished 5th in the nation in the category, posting the most saves in a single season in Tiffin history. Kevin finished 2-1 with a 2.76 earned run average in 29 1/3 innings pitched. Borst's career mark of 14 saves is the most in Tiffin history, breaking the record of 13 set back in 1996.
Kevin graduated from Tiffin University with a 4.00 GPA having majored in Sports and Recreation Management. Borst was an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention selection this season, and was also selected to the GLIAC's All-Tournament team. Borst earned three saves in the GLIAC Tournament, helping the Dragons advance to the championship game for the first time in program history.
