The Dragons are 8-2 in their last 10 games, and have qualified for the GLIAC Tournament.

With four regular season games left, it's hard not to be excited if you're a Tiffin University baseball player. The Dragons are 26-19 overall and 18-10 in GLIAC play, and regardless if it rains or shines this weekend, Tiffin will be playing in the GLIAC Tournament, qualifying for only the third time in program history. But before moving on to postseason play, the Dragons will hope to dance around raindrops this weekend as they play two games at home against Ohio Dominican and then the final two games in Columbus.

Series Record Since 2009-10: The Panthers have never lost a series to the Dragons over the past seven seasons, holding a 14-8 lead over the Dragons. Prior to last season, Ohio Dominican had won three straight series over the Dragons.

Panthers: The Panthers are on the hot seat, sitting in 6th place with the Chargers of Hillsdale College trying grab the Panthers by the tail. Ohio Dominican is 24-21 overall and 15-13 in GLIAC games.

Let It Fly: The Panthers offense is a bit of a throwback to the 1990s, bashing their way past the opposition with light tower power. In the GLIAC, the Panthers are 2nd in triples (14), home runs (50), batting average (.322), and on-base percentage (.397). They lead the conference in slugging percentage (.504) and stolen bases (72).

What About the Staff: The Panthers are 7th in the GLIAC in ERA with 5.78, and they've allowed the 3rd most hits in the conference at 475. Of the 259 NCAA Division II teams, Ohio Dominican is 218th in hits allowed per nine innings at 11.89.

A Pitchers Best Friend: The Panthers' defense has bailed out their pitching staff quite a bit this season, leading the GLIAC with 46 twin killings. The Panthers are also 7th in the nation in double plays per game. The defense for Ohio Dominican has logged a .965 fielding percentage, 2nd in the GLIAC and 46th nationally.

Heavy Hitters: It's not exactly Murderers' Row, but the combination of Tony Evans (12), Lee Sponseller (12), and Justin Childers (11) have combined for 35 long balls this season. As a team the Dragons have hit 25 home runs.

Pitch To Contact: The Panthers are not a strikeout staff, averaging only 6.49 per nine innings. They rely on their defense for outs, and free passes haven't been an issue either, handing out only 3.58 per nine innings.

Tiffin: The Dragons finished their marathon series with the University of Findlay on Wednesday, defeating the Oilers in 3 of the 4 games. The series, which started on Friday, was hampered by rain throughout the five days between start and finish. The Dragons are the hottest team in the GLIAC, winning 8 of their last 10 games. In the month of April, Tiffin is 14-7 and have not lost back to back games since April 10.

Lots of W's: The Dragons have won 26 games this season, the most since they made the transition to NCAA Division II competition. In terms of GLIAC victories, the 18 this season are the second most since Tiffin has been in the conference.

Lucky Number 13: Tiffin shortstop Isaac Perry wears the lucky number, and he has performed well for Tiffin. Perry is Tiffin's all-time leader in career assists regardless of divisions, the GLIAC's career leader in the stat, and he's 10th all-time in the NCAA Division II career record book for assists.

What's The Difference? : The Dragons have won 5 more regular season games and six more GLIAC games than last season. Tiffin's batting average has increased from .275 in 2016 to .297 this year. Putting the ball in play has been a key component to the Dragons offense, cutting down their strikeouts from 347 last year to 250 this year.

Where Do They Rank? : Kevin Borst continues to lead the GLIAC in saves with 9. Nationally he's 11th with that save total. Kyle Durham is still the top dog when it comes to on-base percentage in the GLIAC (.514), and he's 15th nationally.
