Nick Goebel has resigned as Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Tiffin University.

Goebel will be moving on to King University in Bristol, Tennessee as he will become the Head Men's Wrestling Coach for the Tornado.

Goebel coached for Tiffin from 2019-22, helping to lead the Dragons to new heights. Last season Tiffin University's women's wrestling program sent 10 wrestlers to the NCWWC Nationals in Adrian, Michigan, with 101-pound Olivia Shore winning TU's first National Championship. They also won the Northeast Region Championship for the second consecutive year, featuring two champions and 10 grapplers finishing 4th or higher. Goebel was named Northeast Region Coach of the Year.

In the 2020-21 season, the Dragons were ranked as high as sixth in the nation during the year and with Goebel's guidance had six athletes land All American Honors at the NCWWC Nationals Championships.

TU enjoyed a strong season in 2019-20 in just their second season as an official sport at Tiffin. Ranked as high as fifth in the nation during the year, the Dragons had seven different athletes earn 11 All-American honors between the WCWA National Championships in February and the WCWC Championship in March.

Goebel previously coached at King in the 2018-19 season as an assistant, helping to lead the Tornado to a fifth-place finish nationally.

"I'd like to thank Nick for his commitment to our women's wrestling program," said Athletic Director Lonny Allen. "He has elevated the program to a national level while also increasing their GPA year-to-year. I wish Nick the best of luck as he transitions to the men's wrestling position at King University."

"I sincerely appreciate the opportunity Lonny Allen and Tiffin University have given me to start my career as a Head Coach," said Goebel. "This has been a bittersweet feeling to be moving on as the new Head Men's Coach for King University. This group of young ladies here at Tiffin is a special group and I am going to miss the opportunity to coach them and be around them so much. I look forward to watching their continued success from the sidelines. I wish the women's wrestling program and Tiffin University as a whole nothing but the best in the future. Go Dragons!"
