Dragons dominate competition at East Stroudsburg Open

Tiffin University dominated the competition at the East Stroudsburg Open, finishing 1st in the 14 team field and boasting four champions and 14 individual placers.

Sugey Ceja (116 pounds) went unbeaten, getting a pin win over ESU, a tech fall win over New Jersey City 10-0, a 13-12 win, and a win in the title match against Tiffin's Grace Jones 8-0.

Olivia Shore (101) was another champion, posting three pin wins over ESU, Gannon, and Lock Haven.

Solana Mottola (123) topped that performance with four straight pin wins for another title, flattening New Jersey City, Lock Haven, Elmira, and Adrian.

TU's other champion came at 170 pounds, where Taryn Martin posted three tech fall wins en route to the title. She had wins over Limestone 11-0, Adrian 12-1, Sacred Heart 4-1, and Adrian 10-0 in the championship match.

Jones (116) picked up a second place finish, getting wins over ESU by pin, Adrian 11-6, and Lock Haven 6-2. Her only setback came against Ceja in the title bout.

Michal Buska (136) got another second place mark, getting pins over ESU and Adrian while also nipping Greensboro 6-5. She fell to Adrian in the title match by pin.

Taylor Hites (155) also finished 2nd. Hites got pins over Gannon and Elmira along with a tech fall win 11-1 over Adrian. She fell to Lock Haven in the championship 8-0.

Nia Miranda (143) was third, posting pins over Adrian twice, falling to Wyoming Seminary 8-6 but beating Ferrum 4-2 in the third place match.

Fourth place finishes went to 170-pound Morgan Davidson (two losses to Gannon by pin, wins over Limestone, Adrian, and Wyoming Seminary by pin), 101-pound Shanna Morris (tech fall wins over Gannon 10-0 and ESU 10-0, losses to Lock Haven by pin and Gannon 10-8), and 123-pound Stephanie Mondragon (wins over Adrian by pin, Lock Haven 8-6, and Elmira 11-2, losses to Gannon and Lock Haven by 10-0 scores).

Taking 5th was 191-pound Hollie Espinoza (wins over Ferrum and Lock Haven by pin, losses to New Jersey City and Gannon by pin) and 109-pound Trinity Oredina (tech fall win over Hiram 10-0, losses to Gannon 10-0 and New Jersey City 18-6).

Sidney Ramos (143) took 6th, getting wins over Elmira by tech fall 10-0, pin, and 6-0, while falling to Limestone by pin, Gannon, and Limestone 8-0.
