Dragons ranked 9th as 5 grapplers nationally hailed

Tiffin University's women's wrestling team is ranked 9th in the nation in the preseason National Wrestling Coaches Association poll.

The Dragons totaled 30 points and trailed Presbyterian (32) and North Central (37). McKendree was top ranked with 132 points, followed by King (71) and Augsburg (64). The Dragons were ranked as high as 6th last season.

Individually five grapplers are nationally ranked. Leading the way is Sugey Ceja at 116 pounds, who was tabbed 3rd. Ceja is a three-time All American who has finished second nationally in her weight class over the last two seasons.

Eunique Davis (130 pounds) is ranked 5th. She is also a three-time All American who finished 7th at NCWWC Nationals last season.

At 170 pounds, Morgan Davidson is pegged 6th. She finished 6th in the nation last year in her freshman season with the Dragons.

Taylor Hites (155 pounds), another three-time All American, was picked 7th nationally. She finished 6th at Nationals last year.

Finally, Shanna Morris (101 pounds) was tabbed 8th in the country. She is a two-time All American and finished 8th at Nationals.

TU opens its 2021-22 season Nov. 7 at the East Stroudsburg Open.
