Tiffin University (ranked 6th nationally) opened their 2020-21 season with a tough road match against 4th-ranked King University, falling to the Tornado 31-14.

The trip to Bristol, Tennessee originally also involved 14th-ranked Limestone, but became a single dual when Limestone was forced to postpone their trip. The two teams followed varsity action with numerous exhibition matches.

Tiffin posted three wins in the main dual. Sugey Ceja (3rd ranked at 116 pounds) picked up a 10-4 victory to get TU on the board, while 4th-ranked Jessie Lee (191) finished off the match with a strong pin in 2:33. Morgan Davidson (170) also got a forfeit victory.

With both teams sporting numerous nationally ranked grapplers, most of the matches went the way of the higher ranked wrestler. Shanna Morris (8th ranked at 101) fell to 4th ranked Jaclyn McNichols 10-0, while Brooke Richards (109) fell to 6th ranked Aleeah Gould via fall in 1:36. 

No. 8 Stephanie Mondragon (123) fell to 2nd-ranked Cheynne Sisenstein 10-0, Trinity Berry (130) was pinned by 2nd-ranked Allison Petix in 1:27, and Nia Miranda (143) fell to 3rd-ranked Ashlynn Ortega 11-0. Eunique Davis (136) fell via medical forfeit, while the lone upset of the day came at 155 pounds, where 6th ranked Taylor Hites lost to Tory Torres 11-3.

TU now travels to East Stroudsburg on Jan. 16 for a tri-match with East Stroudsburg and Delaware Valley.
