Tiffin lands six All Americans at WCWC National Championships

Tiffin University's women's wrestling team landed six All Americans on the final day of the WCWC National Championships hosted at Adrian, Michigan.

Tiffin finished 7th of 19 teams with 69 points. McKendree won the event with 177.5 points, followed by Simon Fraser with 167 and King with 123.

Sugey Ceja (109) was the top finisher for the Dragons, landing in the championship with a semifinal win over King 12-2. She fell to Augsburg in the title bout by pin in 43 seconds for 2nd overall.

Trinity Oredina (101) also did well, pinning Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2:51 before falling to King 10-0. She won the 5th place match with an impressive 13-2 score over Ferrum.

Jessie Lee (191) also placed 5th, suffering narrow defeats along the way. She lost her semifinal match 4-2 to King, then fell in the consolation round while leading by a sudden pin at the 4:46 mark. She won the 5th place match with a strong pin in 2:54 over Gannon.

Taylor Hites (155) also got a win in her final match after falling to Augsburg by fall in 1:12. She defeated North Central in the 7th place match 8-0.

Tiffin got two more All Americans at 116 pounds with Shanna Morris and at 130 pounds with Eunique Davis. Morris lost to Lindenwood by pin in 4:49 and Colorado Mesa 10-0, while Davis fell to Colorado Mesa 10-0 and King 8-6 in the 7th place match.

Hites, Lee, Ceja, and Davis earned their second All American honors of the season, having already landed the honor at the WCWA Nationals in February. With the addition of Oredina and Morris, and Savannah Stacks's All American citation at the WCWA event, TU has a total of 7 All American wrestlers on a team ranked 5th in the nation.
