Dragons go 2-2 at NWCA National Duals

Tiffin University's women's wrestling squad went 2-2 on its first day at the NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Dragons got wins against Ferrum 42-5 and Presbyterian 23-22 while falling to Simon Fraser 38-8 and Emmanuel 25-19 in a close final match of the day.

Against Ferrum, the Dragons got wins in all but one weight class. Trinity Oredina (101) got a pin in 1:22 to get things going, while Sugey Ceja (109) and Shanna Morris (116) got forfeit wins.

The Dragons continued to dominate with wins over three of their next four matches, with Savannah Stacks (123) getting a win by fall in 1:22, Eunique Davis (136) posting a 10-0 shutout, and Sidney Ramos (143) streaking to an 8-1 victory. Madison Wells (155) got a forfeit win, while Taylor Hites (170) had another 10-0 shutout and Jessie Lee (191) finished off the match with a pin in 2:42.

Tiffin took four of the first six weight classes against Presbyterian and picked up the win with Jessie Lee's forfeit win in the final match. Ceja posted a 11-0 win, and Davis got another solid 10-0 victory. Oredina and Stacks also picked up forfeit wins.

Against national power Simon Fraser, TU got wins from Ceja 13-8 and Oredina by forfeit. But against fourth-seeded Emmanuel, the Dragons won their final three weight classes to fall in a hardfought narrow 6 point loss.

Ceja got another win, this time by fall in 2:38, while Davis picked up her third win of the day with a 7-0 decision. Taylor Hites dominated in a 12-3 win while Lee also got another win 9-2. Wells picked up a forfeit win at 170 pounds.
