Volleyball Falls to Ohio Dominican 3-1

The Tiffin University volleyball team (12-15, 6-8 GMAC) fell to GMAC opponent Ohio Dominican 3-1.

The Panthers won 31-29, 22-25, 25-12, and 25-23.

Tiffin went on a 4-0 run to start the opening game, but Ohio Dominican countered with a 5-1 run tying the game at 5-5. The Dragons increased their lead to 11-7, but the Panthers went on a 3-0 run to cut the lead down to one. The teams traded points, tying several times throughout the set. ODU managed to win the first set 31-29.

The Dragons started strong in the second set as they went on a 5-1 run. Ohio Dominican countered with a 5-0 run to take a 10-8 lead. Later in the set TU went on a 7-1 run to take a 20-17 lead and win set two 25-22.

In the third set, the Panthers went on a 5-0 run and extended their lead to 11-4. The host then went on a 6-0 run midway through the set to lead 18-7. ODU went on to win the third set 25-12.

Tiffin fought hard in the fourth set as they had a tied score eight times before Ohio Dominican went on a 6-0 run to take a 17-11 lead. The Dragons fought back and went on a 4-1 run to chip away at the Panther lead. TU had a late surge going on a 5-2 run to come within one point of Ohio Dominican. The Panthers went on to win the set 25-23.

Wakaya Wilson led the Dragons' offense with 13 kills, a .407 hitting percentage, three digs, and one block assist, Alivia Rew tallied nine kills, with a .250 hitting percentage, four digs, two block assists, and two solo blocks, and Kenedi Goon registered nine kills, with a .100 hitting percentage, one service ace, and five digs.
