Dragons Lose to Eagles 3-0

The Tiffin University volleyball team lost 3-0 to Ashland in GMAC play. 

The Eagles improve to 12-12 overall and 9-3 in the GMAC, while the Dragons fall to 11-14 overall and 5-6 in the GMAC. 

In the first set, Tiffin held an early 5-1 lead until the Eagles rallied to take a 7-6 lead and extended their lead to 13-8. Then, the Dragons went on a 3-1 run to come within three of the Eagles at 14-11, but Ashland countered with a 3-0 run to lead 17-11. The Eagles went on a 4-2 run to take a 21-15 lead and force a Tiffin timeout. The Dragons outscored the Eagles 5-4 but Ashland outlasted the host to win set one 25-20. 

In set two, Ashland jumped out to an 8-3 lead, and Tiffin countered with a 4-2 run to bring the score to 10-7. The teams traded points until the Eagles went on an 8-1 run to win set two 25-15.

The Eagles jumped out to a 5-2 lead early in the third set, and then Tiffin went on a 4-1 run to tie the game at 5-5. The Dragons rallied again to hold an 8-7 lead but the Eagles countered with a 6-2 run to lead 13-10. The visitors went on to extend their lead to 19-13. The Dragons stopped the bleeding but Ashland outlasted Tiffin to win the third set 25-18. 

The Dragon offense was led by Kenedi Goon who had 10 kills with a .292 hitting percentage, one dig, and one solo block, and Taylor Peterson registered nine kills with a .171 hitting percentage and six digs. Loryn Huffman tallied 31 assists, three kills, seven digs and one service ace, Sam Fallis recorded 21 digs, one assist, and one kill, and Ashlyn Jones had 20 digs, two assists and one service ace.
