Dragons Lose 3-0 to Bulldogs

The Tiffin University Volleyball team lost 3-0 to the Ferris State Bulldogs in their opening match of the 2021 campaign, falling by scores of 25-14, 25-10, and 25-17. 

Ferris State's attack was the difference as they registered double-digit kills in all three sets with an average hitting percentage of .275 in the match.

The Dragons jumped to an early 6-4 lead, but the Bulldogs countered with a 9-1 run to lead 13-7. The host kept on the pressure and won the first set 25-14.

The host took an early 8-4 lead followed by a Tiffin 3-1 run to come within two of the Bulldogs. Ferris State then scored five straight points to lead 14-7. The Bulldogs never let the pressure off in the second set as they won 25-10. 

The Bulldogs rushed out to an early 4-0 lead and would go on to lead by as many as 11 in set three. The Dragons had a late surge going on a 6-1 run to cut the score to 17-24 but it wasn't enough and the host took the match 25-17. 

The Dragons were led by freshman Wakaya Wilson recording seven points with a .286 hitting percentage and one dig in her first match as a Dragon. Loryn Huffman had 19 assists and fellow senior Sam Fallis had 17 digs.
