Tiffin University's strong 2019 season is still fresh in the minds of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference volleyball coaches, as the Dragons were picked 2nd in the annual conference preseason poll.

After winning three straight league tournament titles, Hillsdale was picked to finish first again this year in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour. Hillsdale received all 11 possible first-place votes with schools unable to vote for themselves and totaled 121 points. The Dragons totaled 102 points for second, while Walsh was right behind in third with 100 points.

The Dragons reached new heights during the 2019 season, finishing with a 19-13 overall mark and 10-2 GMAC record that secured the two-seed in the conference tournament and Tiffin's first time hosting a conference playoff match. Head coach Shauna Hurles' program advanced to the Great Midwest Tournament Championship matchup, where they stole a set from the Chargers on their home floor before eventually falling 3-1. Three Dragons earned All-Conference honors with Jenna Huffman on the First Team and Loryn Huffman & Sam Fallis on the Second Team.

Fallis and Loryn Huffman are two of four Dragon starters that return from that conference runner-up squad, with Grace Schreiber and Morgan White also coming back after playing in all 118 sets for TU in 2019. A mix of other returners and promising newcomers also adds to the talent of this year's team as Tiffin looks to continue one of the best stretches in program history.
