Volleyball Releases 2020 Schedule

2020 Schedule

Looking to build off of their impressive 2019 season, Tiffin volleyball has released its 2020 schedule for the fall.

The Dragon schedule will include a 12-game GMAC slate, nine home matches, and a few road contests against very tough in-region opponents.

TU kicks off the season in early September with a pair of tournaments on the road, playing four games at Wayne State and three games at Stonehill. The Dragons will then return to Tiffin for their home opener on Sept. 19 in the first game of their home tournament, where they will also host Alabama Huntsville and Bloomsburg on the following day.

On Sept. 22, Tiffin will square off with strong Midwest Region foe Indianapolis on the road. After that, GMAC play gets underway with home games against Lake Erie and Ursuline on Sept. 25 and 26. The Dragons wrap up September on the road at Slippery Rock on the 29th before coming back home for two more conference games against Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Valley the following weekend.

The first road GMAC contests will be tough ones, as the Dragons will travel to defending conference champion Hillsdale on Oct. 9 before visiting rival Findlay the following night. Tiffin then hosts Urbana in nonconference action before heading to Indianapolis for three games at the Midwest Crossover on Oct. 16-17.

Tiffin resumes conference play on Oct. 23 at Ohio Dominican before visiting regional power Ashland on Oct. 27. After hosting Cedarville on Oct. 30, the Dragons will then have four-straight road games to close the regular season, visiting Trevecca Nazarene (Nov. 6), Kentucky Wesleyan (Nov. 7), Walsh (Nov. 13), and Malone (Nov. 14).

The GMAC tournament is scheduled to take place on Nov. 17, 20, and 21st, with times and locations to be determined after the regular season.

With head coach Shauna Hurles in her third season, Tiffin had one of their best seasons since joining the Division II ranks in 2019. Picked third in the GMAC Preseason Poll, Tiffin went 19-13 overall and 10-2 in conference play to finish second during the regular season and was just one win away from their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance before falling to top-seeded Hillsdale in the GMAC title match. Three Dragons were named All-GMAC, with star senior Jenna Huffman also earning numerous regional and national accolades.
