Dragons Sweep Battlers, Move to 3-0 in GMAC Play

PHILIPPI, W.Va. - Tiffin women's volleyball continued their hot start to conference play on Friday night, going on the road to sweep Alderson Broaddus 25-16, 27-25, 25-22.

With the win, the Dragons are now 3-0 in the GMAC and 8-7 overall on the season. 

Tiffin was very efficient over the course of the match, hitting .313 as a team with a high of .359 in the third and final set as they recorded 16 kills and just two errors.

Three Dragons posted double-digit kills on the night, as Jenna Huffman had 12, Kyndall Hellyer had 11, and Alicia Kessler tying her season-high with 10. Hellyer hit an impressive .385 in the match to lead TU, while Huffman's total brought her within just four kills of moving into third place all-time in a Dragon uniform.

Morgan White anchored the back line, recording 12 digs along with an ace. Loryn Huffman added 42 assists in the win for Tiffin.

The Dragons jumped out to a great start in the match, taking the first set with ease after earning leads of 6-2, 12-6, and 21-12 before winning by nine.

The Battlers regrouped for set two and put up a fight, coming back from a 14-11 deficit with five-straight points to take a 16-14 lead. Alderson Broaddus kept that lead until it was 21-20, when a Jenna Huffman kill and White ace flipped the lead in the Dragons' favor. The Battlers and Dragons traded points until it was tied at 25, before a pair of AB attack errors handed the set to Tiffin.

After it was tied at three early on, the Dragons did not trail the rest of the way in set three. Tiffin led by as many as five (15-10) in the set after a back-to-back kills from Kessler, and scored six of the final nine points to take the set 25-22. Zion Richardson had three of Tiffin's final four points via kills.

Tiffin looks to keep the momentum rolling tomorrow afternoon as they wrap up their road trip at Ohio Valley at 1:00 p.m.
