Eagles snap Dragons' win streak

The Tiffin University volleyball team fell on Tuesday evening, having their four match win streak snapped. The Dragons were defeated by the Ashland University Eagles 3-2 for the second time this season.

The Dragons took control of the match in the 1st set, defeating Ashland 25-18. The Eagles responded with a 25-17 set two victory. In the 2nd set, the Dragons hit at only .040, committing nine attack errors. 

Tiffin rebounded in the 3rd set, narrowly escaping with a 25-23 set win. The set was sloppy for both sides, as Tiffin committed 10 attack errors, and the Eagles made 11 errors. Ashland survived the 4th set, defeating the Dragons 25-18 to force a 5th set.

In the final set, the two teams went back and forth, with Tiffin jumping ahead early. The Dragons couldn't hold the lead, and the two teams were tied 8-8 at the midpoint of the set. A simple 3-0 run gave Ashland a 12-9 lead, and the Eagles held on to win the 5th set 15-13.

Tiffin was led in kills by Kasey Adelsperger with 13. Danielle Hicks chipped in with 11 kills, and Jenna Huffman added 10 kills. Emily Weithman finished with 45 assists, and Taylor Lattimore pitched in 24 digs.

The loss drops Tiffin to 16-11 overall and 6-7 in the GLIAC.
